Causes of eyebrow hair loss
Hair renewal is quite natural. Normally, a few hairs fall out of the eyebrows daily. But sometimes this process is too intense. Gaps form, contours are lost. And here are some reasons why this may happen.
- Excessive plucking. Regular eyebrow shaping by plucking leads to follicular trauma. Some of them do not recover and soon die off.
- Aging. Although aging is a physiological process, it impairs many body functions. Including hormone balance and nutrient supply. And this, in turn, affects eyebrow density.
- Drug effects. Some medications (antidepressants, hormonal and chemotherapy drugs) lead to partial or complete alopecia.
- Skin diseases. Eczema, dermatitis, fungus, psoriasis and other dermatological problems can cause eyebrow hair loss.
- Chemical effects. Incompetent hair dyeing – by a beginner or on your own – leads to follicular burns and destruction. An unsuccessful tattoo can also be the cause.

There are several ways to correct eyebrow loss. Let’s compare them.
- Tattooing is done with a machine that punctures the skin and delivers dye deep into the skin layers.
- Microblading involves making small cuts in the skin. The pigment is delivered to the upper dermis, so the effect of the procedure is less permanent than tattooing.
- Makeup is applied using decorative cosmetics (pencils, shadows, markers, brow pomades).
Each of these methods has many disadvantages. Tattooing usually looks unnatural, and the pigment unpredictably changes its shade over time. Microblading leads to scarring, and new hairs will never grow in those spots. Makeup cannot provide a lasting effect.
Only the hair transplantation procedure provides durable eyebrow regrowth. It completely restores their natural density (and even increases the number of hairs). Nothing is better than natural, not drawn on, hairs.
How facial hair transplantation is performed
Eyebrow transplantation involves extracting multiple follicles with the surrounding ecosystem from a donor area. Hairs are usually taken from the nape of the neck, as they are resistant to falling out and take well to the face. In addition, they are maximally similar in structure to the eyebrows. After the follicles are harvested, they are placed in the skin through microperforations. Then the doctor applies a dressing.
How the recovery period after hair transplantation proceeds
Recovery is quite fast: the transplantation area heals in 10-14 days. This does not restrict social activity at all. After 2-3 months, the natural hair growth cycle occurs. It does not affect appearance. The final result is evaluated 1 year after eyebrow transplantation.
